This is a truly exciting day, I have goosebumps on goosebumps. The talented author  Wendy Jones is here today to tell us all about a brand new Crime Festival.

Chance Encounters of the Fortuitous Kind By Wendy Jones

What happens when a Crime Writer visits a haunted Castle? Chance meetings, and a brand new Scottish Crime Festival, that’s what happens.

On a recent visit to Glamis Castle I had an idea for a unique event called Crime at the Castle. My head never stops spinning when it comes to murder and myhem.  Not knowing who I should talk to I asked one of the staff at the castle who I should approach. The lovely American lady, Pauline Cowdery, turned out to be the very person I needed, hence chance encounters of the fortuitous kind.

The castle have been amazing and I cannot thank the staff enough for how they have embraced this and worked together with me. As the castle has not yet opened for the season, we will be using many of the rooms such as, The Dining Room, Drawing Room, Chapel, Queen Mother’s Sitting Room, and the small and large 16th Century Chambers. Some of these are not generally open to the public. Bookshop and book signing in a Crypt anyone? Waterstones, Dundee, will be providing the bookshop. I think their staff are trembling.

There is a fabulous line-up of speakers. Who are they. This is a crime festival so we need a bit of mystery. All will be revealed at the end of July. The date of this unique event is 24th February 2018. Get it in your diaries and keep an eye out for the opening of the booking.

Ghosts, Scotland’s top Crime Writers and a historic castle, what’s not to love. See you there, if you dare.

Love Books Group is delighted to be on board reviewing the event and bringing you exclusive content on and before the big day!
